"At times the world may seem an unfriendly and sinister place, but believe that there is much more good in it than bad. All you have to do is look hard enough, and what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events may in fact be the first steps of a journey."

"There is no such thing as a kid who hates reading. There are kids who love reading , and kids who are reading the wrong books."

. Part 1: investigate 1. My service project will attempt to feed 200 homeless people on the streets of San Diego. 2. Patrica Phay is a resident in Sun City, CA. She packs lunches for the homeless and passes them out. A food bank gives her supplies. She believes she is helping these homeless people by saying prayers for them and providing food to them. 3. Just in San Diego there is over 8,000 sheltered and unsheltered homeless people and was the 4th highest number of homeless people in the US. The San Diego Rescue Mission is an organization helping this issue by providing shelter and meals to the homeless. 4. Even though the city of San Diego has the largest concentration of homeless people in the county, the overall number is down 8 percent from 2015. Part B: Plan 1. My goal is to put a smile on at least one homeless person's face. I want to give them a meal so they don't go hungry for at least 1 night. 2. I have teamed up with Patricia Phay, Who does this every Sunday. A man who runs food banks will supply us with boxes of snacks, free of charge we will then put the snacks in plastic bags and load them into the trailer. We will then drive down to San Diego and pass them out. 3. My team and I will pass out Premade bags of snacks to the homeless in San Diego. We will drive down to the street to San Diego with bags in person. We will also ask if they would like us to give them a prayer. 4. I want the homeless people of San Diego to know that they can do something to make their lives better and that we are doing list to motivate them to do something good for themselves. 5. I will post pictures and things on my social media and weebly blog. I don't need to get any praise or thanks for what I did, but I want to post as more of a thing to inspire someone else to do the thing for their community.
